Guidance

Arsenal Tech offers a wide range of resources and a comprehensive program to assist students and their families with college planning. The counseling department has a large selection of reference guides, college catalogs, and admissions testing materials. They work with students to access university websites to further learn about specific institutions and their programs.

Future Centers

The Arsenal Technical High School Future Center is designed to help our students take the steps needed to successfully transition to Enrollment, Enlistment or Employment upon graduation. Students can avail themselves to valuable support services in the areas of college- and career-readiness skill building, mentoring, technical assistance, and more.

Featuring the latest technology, strong support from our collegiate and corporate partners, and knowledgeable and friendly staff, our Future Center and its resources are available to our scholars throughout their high school experience and during their journey through college or early years in the workforce.

Services include:

  • Mentoring – Individualized or group mentoring sessions offer students support during their high school years to help them overcome any social and emotional hurdles they encounter.
  • Interview Training – Mock interviews, through one-on-one or group training, help students prepare for upcoming job or college/military interviews by perfecting skills and providing valuable feedback.
  • College Application Support – Staff provides students with assistance in understanding and completing financial-aid forms and scholarship applications, and researching additional ways to make college affordable and attainable.
  • Tutoring – Whether students are preparing for college essays, the ACT or SAT, or just need additional support, tutoring in math and writing are provided to foster greater understanding and mastery of core curriculum.

Naviance

Throughout their four years in high school, scholars also employ Naviance, a web-based college- and career-planning system widely used in college-prep high schools. Naviance is a secure, web-based system allowing counselors, administrators, staff, scholars, and parents to keep track of documents and plans involving their post-secondary life.

Naviance enables students to access up-to-date, online information about colleges and universities and develop a personalized list of colleges that fit the traits they themselves identify as important factors in their search. Naviance enables schools and families to be involved in the college selection process, in a collaborative manner. The privacy of students’ personal information is assured, as users only have access to their
own records.

Naviance is a popular web-based online tool used by schools across the globe. More information on Naviance can be found on their website at www.naviance.com. The username is the student’s ID number and password is the student’s birth date, ex: 04/19/2001.*
